Description: Kathryn Glenda is a young girl born and raised in harsh conditions in Ireland. After her family’s crops died in the famine, and her father and two brothers died of scarlet fever, they were left with no choice but to come to England for hopes of a better life. Kathryn’s mother, Erin Glenda, was lucky enough to be an excellent cook and was able to become a chef for nobleman Alexander Maslov where Erin was permitted residence. Alexander took note of the fact that Erin had a young daughter and allowed her to stay and live in his residence with her mother on the condition that she occupy his daughter, Viola Maslov, in hopes that Kathryn would be capable of keeping her from bothering him as much as she would. Kathryn was also recruited as a maid which is a task she does without despondency and she is very greatful for the contributions the Maslov family has made to hers. She gets along with Viola very well and, of all the staff, Kathryn and Erin are Viola’s favorite and most tolerable.
