Description: Marianne is an englishwoman who is not quite a noble, however, she is not poor. She was taken into the Maslov household by Alexander in an effort to keep Viola under management. Marianne is paid to educate her and keep her from disturbing him frequently. Despite residing under the same roof for many years, Viola and Marianne do not get along with one another and neither is very willing to spend time with the other. However, Marianne refuses to allow Viola to force her out of the house and ruin her only source of income. Marianne also harvests a deep hatred of demons, believing that they are all born of the devil. This hatred also feeds her dislike of the Irish as she believes that they all have pacts with the devil in one way or another. Because of this believe, she also refuses to interact with the Glendas. In spite of her beliefs, she stands as Alexander’s most favored member of the manor staff.
